coronavirus third wave end expert on covid peak and pandemic

The third wave of corona is on the slopes in Chhattisgarh. Experts say that the peak of this wave has passed. It is clear from the analysis of the data that the peak of the third wave had come much earlier than expected. It was being told in various models, the peak of this wave of epidemic will come in the last week of January. But it had already reached its peak by mid-January.

On the first day of January, 279 new patients were reported. This was unusually high over the previous week's rate. On January 4, the graph of infection had risen sharply with 1059 patients. On January 13, 6 thousand 15 new patients appeared across the state. On the next day i.e. on January 14, 6 thousand 153 new patients were found. This was the peak of the third wave of Corona. After that till now the number of patients has not even reached 6 thousand. The next day of the peak showed a significant drop in the number of patients. On January 15, 5 thousand 525 new patients were found, while on January 16, the number of people found positive remained only 3 thousand 963. After this the cases increased again but the biggest figure could not go beyond 5 thousand 661 on 22 January. On January 31, the number of new corona infected stood at 2 thousand 693. At the same time, on 6 February, corona infection was found in 976 new people. This was the lowest number of patients found in a day in about 35 days. In the 38 days from January 1 to February 7, one lakh 32 thousand 279 people have come under the grip of corona infection.

When the cases started decreasing, the death toll increased

The most worrying aspect in the third wave of Corona was the death toll. The death toll of patients started increasing at a time when new cases of corona were decreasing. On January 1, when 279 new cases were found, one patient died. Not a single death is recorded on January 2 and 3. On January 4, when the case reached more than one thousand, for the first time 3 patients died. The maximum number of 7 patients died in a day till the peak date of 14 January. The death of 15 patients for the first time on January 20 caused a stir. On January 25, when the new cases had reached below 5 thousand, the maximum number of 23 patients died.

351 patients died in January-February itself

According to the Health Department, from the 1st of January to the 7th of February, a total of 351 patients have lost their lives. 65% of those patients died due to other serious diseases and accidents. Most of the lives have taken place after January 20. Since the beginning of Corona, 11 lakh 40 thousand 467 people have been affected by this epidemic. Out of them 13 thousand 951 people have lost their lives.

Such was the situation of Corona on Monday

According to the Health Department, 37 thousand 372 samples were collected across the state on Monday. During this, corona infection was confirmed in 1292 people. 14 patients died. Of these, 12 had come to the hospital due to other serious ailments and accidents. Meanwhile, 4 thousand 180 people were discharged after treatment. Of these, only 122 people were being treated in hospitals. Now the number of active patients in the state has come down to 13 thousand 706.

Is this the beginning of the end of the pandemic?

Director of Epidemic Control in Chhattisgarh, Dr. Subhash Mishra does not answer this question. Dr. Mishra said, it is too early to say now. How are we getting less, in such a situation, it can be said that the peak of the third wave has passed. But it is not possible to talk about the end of the epidemic or the reduction of the danger. Various teams and laboratories of the Health Department will now conduct research in relation to the epidemic. There will be an analysis of the symptoms, peak and death data of the sick. It will be tried to find out how much role the vaccine played in the control of the epidemic. What was the effect of the drugs? What was the effect on people suffering from other diseases? Dr. Subhash Mishra said, for the time being there is protection in caution. Walking out unnecessarily, ignoring the rules of physical distance can be overwhelming.
